Listening as a Magnifying Glass

Instead of examining our experience of the song. We move on from the mirror and start to examine the song on its own terms. Listening as a magnifying glass is about discovering what the song is for, what the song is about, and what it is trying to accomplish. We are determining the goals and themes of the song itself.  Then we think about whether it was successful in communicating its themes and meeting its goals.
